About Time I Know :)

I was feeling good towards the end of my pregnancy.  Lots of hip pain and always tired.  I felt huge of course but i always get big. There's just no room for the baby.  Deklyn was very active and kicked all the time.  Just like Mady, he got the hiccups a lot too.  Well As I was going to my appointments.  There was some progress but not really much at all.  I was really excited to try and have a normal birth instead of a c-section.  As due date drew nearer though, I was not progressing at all.  I went in on a Wednesday and had to make a decision.  My doc projected I wouldn't go into labor on my own until closer to thanksgiving.  That's like 2 weeks late!  But that is not why I opted for a second c-section.  John was going to be gone a lot in the upcoming weeks and I didn't want him to miss our sons birth.  Also if I waited I wouldn't get my mom's help very long cause she was going to come on my due date.  My worst fear was that I'd go into labor a week or two late, John would be gone, I'd go through labor and then end up needing a c-section anyways.  Then I'd only have my moms help for a few days and when she and john left I'd have to take care of 2 kids all by myself after only 6 days post op.  Talk about impossible.  So after many tears I decided to have a scheduled c-section 1 day before my due date.  As the day came i began to remember all the horrible things about c-sections and all the little details I forgot.  Which made me more nervous.  Who knew that my first c-section would be a breeze compared to the second :(

We got ready and sent Mady to a friends house that morning (Thanks Spencers!)  Then we headed over to the hospital.  I got all checked in and decked out in my awesome hospital gown and then we waited, and waited, and well..... waited.  In the meantime they tortured me :)  The lady who did my IV sprayed blood everywhere so John left to go get a second breakfast or something.  Then I had another nurse who was doing her residency or something do my catheter :(  She had to stop and let the other nurse do it again the right way.  TMI I know but it wasn't fun :) haha  Finally they said we were ready to go in.  I was just ready to have it over with at this point.  The anethesialogist.  Had a hard time.  This is an understatement.  He is the reason I never wanna have a baby here again haha.  It took him like 6 tries to get in the spinal and when he finally did her went to far or whatever and gave me a horrid spinal headache.  It was such horrible pain.  He kept saying during the surgery "oh mama is going to just go to sleep!"
While I thought "No you idiot you gave me such head pain that i can't even open my freaking eyes!"
Kind of wanted to punch him.  One thing that seemed to help was John's cold hands on my head, but that didn't last long cause he went and laid down on the floor and passed out...... :( he had to literally crawl out of the OR.  And because of this he missed filming his first bath :( epic fail I'd say.  Haha
Well after they took about 45 min to sew me up we went to the recovery room where we spent 2 hours trying to get my blood pressure taken.  They couldn't ever get it because I was shaking so badly it said I should have been dead.  They had heated blankets on me and even a warming lamp but I still shook uncontrollably for 2 hours! Not fun haha plus I still had my pounding migraine.
Besides the normal c-section pain and anguish other things went wrong.  I started getting tons and tons of pain that night.  Finally after a few hours they checked my IV which was not working! so I wasn't getting any pain meds at all!  It was quite painful.  I had to keep my hand in a certain position if I wanted to have any pain meds.  I didn't get any sleep that night for anytime I would almost fall asleep the alarms would go off because I guess I would stop breathing.  So I had to feel like an idiot and have that weird nose air.  I wasn't getting much sleep in the hospital bed so we decided to check out early.  Took us a few hours because I forgot to change the straps to newborn size.  It took so long and was so painful waiting around trying to figure it out with the nurses.  My hormonal self started crying of course.  Finally one of the nurses said "Oh MY GOSH! I REMEMBER!!"  To which john told me he had just finished a prayer.  Thank goodness for our heavenly fathers love!  When we finally got home it was a normal LONG recovery but I was so incredibly grateful to be home with my lil family and my beautiful boy.  It was a long road but he is so totally worth any of it and more! I love my sweet little Deks :)
Shout out to my momma!  If she hadn't been there the first two weeks to help me I wouldn't have made it! I know that for sure!  The first two weeks are always the hardest!  John wouldn't help me go to the bathroom or shower or anything because he said he would pass out so my mom saw way too much of me but she was such an amazing help!  My Angel for sure!  Thank you mommy I love you!!  You are the best and I owe you forever! Only way I can think of repaying you is giving you extremely adorable grand kids who love you probably more than me ;)

Well enough talking.  Here are some pics :) And maybe some videos :)

Of course john is making weird conversations with the nurses but I love Deklyn's little pathetic cry :)

Remember I just had surgery ok? :)
