March 2013

Around this age Deklyn really started talking and making noises.  He is such a copy cat.  When we would stick our tongues out he would do it too.  Since John was away at work over night a lot, I would usually put Mady to bed and then Deklyn and I would get some time alone before he went to bed to.  Most of what I remember in our last house is just constantly being exhausted.  Always so tired :)

For some reason I can't get movies to play on here.  Quite annoying.  Sorry

Isn't he just so cute! :)
He may have left me exhausted and zombie-like but I still like making yummy food :)

Home made pizza with a home made pesto.

 look at the flakiness!! :)

I sure do like these kiddos :)

Now onto st. Patrick's day

We made rainbows and figured out some leprechaun code.  Then we searched for the hidden gold! Mady had fun.  Our green food may not have looked so appetizing but it was yummy! It was hard to convince mady to eat it though haha.

A confession and a promise.

Yes I'm a year behind on the blog, I don't turn my blog pages into a book for keepsake,  I don't do amazingly fun and creative things with my children everyday.  Let's be honest, my children bug the crap out of me more often than not.  I'm way over weight and hardly ever find the time or energy to exercise.  My only chance to practice my "talents" is multitasking  preparing dinner and singing at the top of my lungs so I can't hear my children screaming at each other over a certain color of crayon or princess.  I know as a wife/mother I lack many things.  I hated the fact that majoring in Music was way too competitive and judgmental.  You know what worse?  Mothers.  Being a stay at home mom is tough.  You crave more attention from your hubby, while wanting less attention from your children.  You have never ending lists of chores to do and hardly the time or energy to get it all done.  From every corner and every thing you see online, you are being hit with "perfection".  Pinterest, blogs, Facebook, and even other stay at home mothers.  Husbands don't understand how physically and emotionally draining it is and never will.  I'm not perfect but I try.  I took 30 min to fold 10 items of clothing so that Mady could learn how to fold clothes.  I took time out of my chore and laundry filled day to play and tickle my son and to read stories.  I hardly ever get out and most days seem like deja vu over and over again.  I lack the skills to do cute things with Mady's hair so its usually a rats nest, but my children are fed, clothed, and usually happy.  So I may be behind in my blog, I may not be the perfect mom but I try.  The laundry is done every week, my house is moderately clean, dishes get done, and food is planned and prepared.  We do things that are fun together that hardly ever get documented.  I'm ok with it.  I'm not someone else.  I'm me.  and that's the best I can do :)

I will try and get the blog updated so that I can put pictures and thoughts down as they happen, cause goodness I can't really remember what happened last year.  I can barely remember what happened yesterday haha.
I will try and exercise and eat right so I can love myself and in turn love others more.
I will try to better myself spiritually as well so I can teach my children the gospel.
I will try to be more patient so that I can teach my children the important things they need to know to survive in life and be the best that they can be.
I will try to play with them more and do more fun things with them so that I don't hear "I don't like you" 100 times a day.  Hopefully only 10 times a day :)
I will try to practice voice and write songs and do things that I love so that I can be happier and be a better mom and wife.
I will try to keep the budget I plan every month so that we can save some money. haha :)

I may not be perfect but all we can do is try a little harder each day.  Right? :)

Trip to Arizona means.... Jason's Wedding!!!

We took the long drive to Arizona, it was really really long drive.  It was supposed to take about 16 hours and I think it took us about 20.  It was worth it though.  Fun with family and being apart of Jason's wedding.  Totally worth it :)  We took family pictures.  The boys went golfing while the girls got mani/pedis and dinner.  Had the wedding and reception which was beautiful and fun :)  then john and I got sick that night and the next day was a puke fest.  Ruined our last day all together :( I was sad.  Then when some family left, we went swimming and at dinner at Jason's new apartment.
Mady was the flower girl for the wedding and she loved it and she looked so pretty in her black lacy dress :)  We were all pretty tired after a long drive, late nights, and sharing a hotel room with a 3 month old.  Mady fell asleep on john one night at dinner :)  We also met up at chickfila with some of John's friends.  Mady got stuck in the tunnels and John had to go get her.  Nothing out of the ordinary :)  Then we made the long drive back home.  I wouldn't want to do the drive again, but I do wish all our family could be together again :(

the kids had their own party.  A screaming party haha.

Hippo party

So there is a day in February that is national hippo day.  We decided to have a birthday party for Mady's big pink hippo Bobo.  It was fun.  I made cupcakes, we played a larger version of hungry hungry hippo, had a hippo mouth contest (scary images included :) ) and played a game kind of like a cake walk but it was hippo and the mud puddle.  Here are some pics.  It was a fun day, I'm sure we will do it again next year :)

And.... a few more pictures :)
Deklyn's first time in the bumbo :) so cute :)

Deklyn's first basketball game.  He loved it.  It was way past his bedtime but he was so happy :)
