Easter Weekend

Probably the best part about my Easter/Birthday weekend was that John worked at home Thursday and had Friday off for spring break!!! It was so nice! The rest of the weekend wasn't too eventful just relaxing and doing some yard work :) On Friday it was a little chilly and windy but Mady got to fly her first kite! she loved it :) Here are some pics....





She did really well and loved doing it, although it was pretty windy and she decided to let go off it. Luckily it wrapped around our chimney and we were able to save it :)

Saturday our ward did a Easter egg hunt. IT WAS FREEZING!!! the poor kids all huddled against the garage till it was time to go. The little ones had a certain area of grass with lots of easy eggs to find. Mady did really well. Held her own and got quite a few eggs haha. She loved it. She was crying when it first started but not because she didn't get eggs but because john and I were handing of the camera and it fell on her head haha Woops.






Then the dads had a Easter egg toss with raw eggs. I wish I had taken pictures cause john and his partner WON!!!! It was fun haha.

Then on my Birthday I was hurrying to church. I hadn't been feeling very good all day but had to do singing time and I was singing a duet in sacrament meeting. As said in previous post I fell on the way to the car and bruised my knee and my pride haha. Our song went pretty well though. After church we had our friends the mills over for dinner and dessert. We had a good time like always and best of all my blueberry cobbler turned out perfect!!!!! It was so yummy. Mady did a Easter egg hunt with John and the mills boys and had a blast. Then we went to bed haha didn't do much or get much but we are going to DISNEYLAND!!!!! and I'm beyond excited :) First real vacation John and I have ever taken :) We took some videos of Mady's egg hunt but i still can't get them to load onto the blog so you will have to go onto Facebook to see them. Sorry. I was a little upset with how some of Easter went. We still hadn't dyed eggs and totally spaced the Easter baskets so we did a Easter take 2. That will be my next post :)

The many adventures of pregnancy brain round 2

Well where do I start? Before I even knew for sure I was pregnant and I had the pregnancy brain start. The Sunday before my mom and I went to Idaho I was doing singing just as normal. Problem was... I forgot the words to every song we sang! If you have known me long you know I do not forget words to songs! I have a great memory and especially for music. That was my first clue. It was totally embarrassing. Then when I got home from Idaho which of course I had to forget some things at my moms house. I decided to go for a walk. As I walked down the stairs and out the door I stared at my keys hanging on the wall by the door. Thought nothing of it and started for my walk. Mady wanted her drink so I started to go back inside... come to find out I had locked myself out. I was a worried wreck for john wouldn't be back for a couple days. I decided to just go for my walk. Then john called and said to hurry home to meet the locksmith. Finally he got the door unlocked I paid the man and we went about our normal day. Around lunch I saw the ups man leave a package on our back deck. I went over to look at it and noticed that the sliding glass door was unlocked. I was hoping Mady had done it later but I'm pretty sure it had been unlocked the whole time!!!! I felt really stupid. Never even crossed my mind. Other stupid incidences include slicing my finger with a steak knife. And most recently totally biffed it on our driveway on our way to church... on my birthday. kinda set the mood for my birthday and Easter haha. It didn't bleed or anything but my whole left knee was bruised for a week. Very painful. I guarantee there will be more. If you were to talk to me you would feel pity for me cause it is even hard for me to hold a decent conversation without sounding like a fool :) Hope this kid will be really smart cause he/she is taking all my brains haha :) Oh well :) I'm just really hoping this baby will have johns dimples! Mady is the only grandchild so far that doesn't have them on the Reid side :) My next blog post with be about my Birthday/Easter. Till then, Adios!!!

April fools day

We are not much of a prank pulling family. So our April fools wasn't too eventful. Although we did tell this!!!
WE ARE PREGNANT!!! FINALLY!!! Showed this picture saying Mady is practicing for November 10th



We took a few photos of her and this one was the one she was being the least silly in :) haha

I also made dinner for the fam. Cupcakes! for dinner! here are some pics







Ok ok so they weren't cupcakes but were actually meat loaf with potatoes on top and where actually quite good. Mady ate a whole one! :) John ate a few more than that but i won't tell how many or he may get mad at me but at least he liked them :) well that was April fools I'll post more later!

Keeping busy while daddy is away.

This past week John was gone from before we were up till Thursday evening. The best part :) We had no car. So we had to try and keep busy, especially since Mady doesn't really believe in naps anymore :) Anyways here are some pics of one of our days. We had a eventful day on another day but that's a different story. We did some mess free finger painting and then we made bubbles with vinegar and baking soda. She loved it!

St Patrick's Day

While in Idaho. We celebrated St Patrick's Day! :) Mady didn't really want to eat the green sandwiches but its hard to get her to eat most of the time anyways :) We ate a lunch of green food. Then colored Mickey Mouse pictures. Then we did a little scavenger hunt. Mady liked finding the rainbows i had colored on the clues :) Kemry just liked following Mady haha. It was fun though. Here are some pics of the day. I'll try and post the video too, although it is really short. Sorry, my camera died on me oh well :)

Well this may be difficult because I can't really think of 11 random things about me right now but I will try.... haha thanks Stacie :) This will be a good lazy Sunday activity. Here we go...

Random Facts about me!

1- I may or may not have more than 4 boxes of clothes that used to fit me stored in my house. Still hoping that someday I will fit back into them.

2- Some people may know this about me but i never once finished a craft growing up. Not once. And now what is my life chuck full of?.... Sewing, cross stitch, bows, decorations, and much much more.

3- I used to babysit all the time growing up, but now that I have my own... kinda can't stand other peoples kids. Babies yes. Children....no haha

4- I secretly really like where I live :) Nebraska.... who knew :)

5- My (teenage) daughter is a lot more like me than I would like to admit :)

6- I really hate washing my face at night. So therefore i don't really like to wear makeup too often.

7- I secretly want multiples. So does John

8- Right now I only have about 2 weeks worth of clothing in my wardrobe where as Mady has way more than that and so does john :)

9- I was kind of a tom boy growing up. Now I like pink and princesses. My daughter is a very very girly girl.

10- Sometimes I enjoy it when John is gone overnight.

11- My daughter drives me crazy sometimes but then we have a day like this :)



Mady brought the antlers to me and then my computer. Put the antlers on my head and said "Pikter!" So we did :)

Now to Stacie's questions...

1- If a movie was made about your life, who would you pick to play you and why?
The obvious answer would be Haley James Scott from one tree hill because she looks like me but if i chose it would either be Sandra bullock or Reese Witherspoon. I just like them both so much :)

2- Your least favorite household chore is?
First of all I hate the way Stacie asked this question. Phrasing it to mean i like household chores or actually have a favorite haha. But i really do HATE washing dishes by hand. Makes my hand feel gross and because I'm so short The water runs all the way down my arms to my elbows and DRIVES ME CRAZY!!

3- What would you love to be a expert on?
I would love to be a expert on two things. Knowing how to fix cars. And knowing all things construction and housebuilding. These two things would make my life so much easier right now!

4- If funding was unlimited, where/what would you do to better the world?
I would want to adopt and help every child and baby through out the world. Especially those who are neglected or abused. Even if they do have parents.

5- How many pairs of shoes do you own? What is the most dominant style of shoe in your closet?
This is a tough question because i own a lot of shoes that which none fit since i had Mady. I currently have about 5 pairs of shoes that fit and that I wear.

6- If you could live anywhere in the world (outside the U.S.) where would it be?
No idea. Id rather live by my family and travel the world! I want to see everywhere!!

7- Name something on your bucket list?
Well since I already told you that I want to see the world I'll do a different one. I want to go with John to Disneyland. Which is happening in MAY!!! I also would really like to adopt outside of the U.S.

8- How long did you believe in Santa? When/how did that change?
I really have no idea when I learned the "truth". I still like to pretend that I still believe in Santa Clause :)

9- Is there anything you are really paranoid/anal/OCD about?
I've noticed that as I get older and the longer I am a mom the more ocd I get. But one thing I have always been ocd about is having the TV volume be on a even number or end with a five. John likes to tease me and put it on a odd number till I freak out. Same for the Radio and anything else that shows the volume in number form.

10- Name something that would be in your dream house?
Well my dream house is huge and nice! So I'd say a maid :)

11- What would be your idea of a perfect day?
Oh pretty much anything that involves good food, family, and fun.
Last summer before I moved we all got together and played four square outside till it got dark. Had a bbq and played games all night with lots of yummy snacks :) Love it :) Add a sunset walk on the beach and I'm in heaven :)

Getting Ready!!! :)

I will be having a fun and family filled next couple of weeks and I'm so excited! I've been really really busy trying to get the house ready to be somewhat presentable haha. Here are a few pics of the place.

Here are some pics of the cupboards of how they looked before and the during process in the upstairs bathroom. I got new doorknobs for our doors so if Mady locks them we can unlock them. Wish i had new doors and door frames too though i hate the color of wood they used in this house :)





Mady and John made a snowman while i went to a Dr's apt. They did pretty good although it is missing one body part and a face haha. Mady loves playing in the snow though. I like to decorate for each holiday. I didn't have anything for st. Patricks day and john made fun of me so i did this! :) HAHA that'll teach him :)





My Upstairs bath is almost done! I finished the curtains and counter. Now I just have to finish the cupboards and have Brandon help me frame the mirror! :) YEAH!
